High Five: MSU FB turns up the heat

Today’s High Five:

  • Michigan State’s football practices are not energy efficient. They are cranking the heat to prepare for Florida sun in the Capitol One Bowl.
  • Michigan State is considering adding another two-sport athlete, a basketball/football player who would follow in the footsteps of Andre Rison and Matt Trannon. It’s Dion Sims from Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, Kalin Lucas’ alma mater.
  • Here’s some historical perspective on the Lions’ misery, courtesy of Tom Kowalski.
  • In the grand tradition of a link round-up linking to another link-round-up, Christy at Winging It In Motown has pulled together some of the buzz about the Wings’ New Year’s Day showdown at Wrigley Field.
  • Helene St. James thinks the Wings are shuffling their lines for tonight’s game against Colorado. She’ll take Zetterberg and Datsyuk, but it’s Marian Hossa’s new line that’s got her excited.

Today’s schedule:

  • NHL: Colorado at Detroit, 7pm
