High Five: Now it’s more like the third pick

Today’s High Five:
- Who should the Lions draft at #1? Tom Kowalski recommended USC safety Taylor Mays, but that’s a moot point now that Mays is staying in school.
- Lots of other folks think it should be Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford. But . . . Bradford isn’t coming out, either. So the Lions have the top pick and still can’t get the guy(s) they want.
- Great column today from Bob Wojnowski about Michael Curry’s dilemma in setting the best rotation for the Pistons — he’s likely to have some unhappy players who are accustomed to larger roles. This is handy in the sense it will give me something to blog about during the dog days of the regular season.
- Football/basketball recruit Dion Sims chose Michigan State over Miami and others. It sounds like he knows football is his main event.
- Rumor has it that Tom Izzo is fired up for Penn State tonight.
Today’s schedule (everybody’s playing, all road games):
- College basketball: Michigan State at Penn State, 6:30pm (BTN)
- NBA: Detroit at Indiana, 7pm (Fox Sports Detroit)
- College basketball: Michigan at Illinois, 8:30pm (BTN)
- NHL: Detroit at Anaheim, 10pm (Fox Sports Detroit)
